Getting there:
The Japanese Garden is located in southwest Portland, directly above the International Rose Test Gardens in Washington Park. A free shuttle bus (from our parking lot to the admission gate) operates daily during the Summer season (April-September), on weekends during the Winter season (October-March), and for special events.
Hours:
The Japanese Garden is open to visitors seven days a week year-round, closing only on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
Winter Season:
October 1 - March 31
Tuesday-Sunday: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday: 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Summer Season:
April 1-September 30
Tuesday-Sunday: 10 a.m. -7 p.m.
Monday: 12pm-7pm
Best Time to Visit: The garden is beautiful all year, but the azaleas bloom in spring and leaves change in autumn.
Tours:
Get a tour each day from April - October at 10:45 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. (On Mondays the Garden opens at noon, with the first tour at 1pm.) November through March, guided tours are offered on Saturdays and Sundays at 1 p.m. Tours last about 45 minutes. No reservations are necessary

- $6.25 College Students (college ID is required, please)
- $5.25 Youths (age 6-17)
- Children under age six are free
Gift store:
The store is set up like a museum shop, with plenty of art as well as graceful gifts such as calligraphy sets, bath products, tea pots and more.

Becoming a member of the Garden is easy. The annual membership includes:
- One year's admission to the Garden
