Fast Facts About the International Rose Test Garden

1. The International Rose Test Garden is located inside Washington Park. The park is located at 400 SW Kingston Ave.

2. The garden is open every day from 7:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.

3. There is no admission charge to get into the garden.

4. Get a free tour of the rose garden. Tours are led by trained volunteers. They begin at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Tuesdays, and 1 p.m. on Saturdays & Sundays. Meet at the sign outside the Rose Garden Store. Donations are gladly accepted.

5. The garden features over 6,800 rose bushes representing 557 varieties.

6. The International Rose Test Garden is operated by Portland Parks and Recreation.

9. Founded in 1889, the Portland Rose Society is a non-profit organization offering educational programs on rose culture and encouraging the use of roses in the landscape. The Portland Rose Society helps with upkeep of the garden and also operates the gift shop.

10. There are three main parts of the garden: The Royal Rosarian Garden, the Shakespeare Garden and the Miniature Rose Garden. Be sure to visit all three areas. Visit the website for the International Rose Test Gardens.
