Carpool in Portland

Share Your Daily Commute

By Nancy Levenson, About.com

What if you only had to fill your gas tank half as often as you do now? Carpool Match NW is a service that allows you to find a person (or a group of people) to share your commute with. The service matches people in a variety of areas, including Portland, Wilsonville, Vancouver and Salem.
Reasons to carpool:

1) Less wear and tear on your car.

2) Reduced gas consumption, traffic, congestion, and the amount of carbon dioxide emitted in to the air, which affects Global Warming.

3) Less stress. Rather than fighting traffic each day, you can sit back and ride some of the time.

4) Better, cheaper parking. People who carpool can get discounts on parking in Portland, and even get preferred parking spots. In order to qualify, you must carpool consistently and each person in the carpool must be going to destination within the “boundaries” which are pre-determined by the city.

See the boundary map.

Get more information about the parking benefits online or call 503-227-7665.

Visit the Carpool Match website. or call 503-CARPOOL (227-7665).
